Featured Fitness Content: Volume 54

We’ve been dedicating more time for finding fitness content from around the web for our on-going Featured Fitness Content series. Because of the nature of the internet, blog posts, articles, podcasts, and interviews are a great way to get ahead of the curve and see what experts are thinking, doing, and forecasting in real-time. Whereas traditional scholarly works like journal articles can be great, in many cases the material can be dated by the time of its publication.

You can see last week’s edition of Featured Fitness Content here. You can also submit any publications that you’ve written or read for the series on our contact page. Submissions will be reviewed and added to the series according to their clarity, relevance, and interest.

Bonus

This video, though not as recent as the majority of links it our Featured Fitness Content series (published 2011), is a great use of 20 minutes. In it, Dr. Kelly McGonigal talks about the value of meditation. Though we don’t coach meditation directly, Ruthless Performance is influenced by Stoicism and Buddhism to a great extent. This video may be the turning point in your perspective on the value of meditation:

What Science Can Teach Us About Practice: The Neuroscience of Mindfulness.

Quote of the Week

Since the start of 2020, we’ve been featuring a weekly quote to inspire, motivate, and help our athletes develop a sense of discipline and proactivity. You can see the full history of them throughout our Twitter feed or on our Instagram page. Regardless, you should give both of these a follow (search @RuthlessPerform or click the links above).
