Challenging the Current for a Better Future
Our Mission
Beyond pursuing excellence in the athletes and clients that we work with at Ruthless Performance, we are also committed to finding and funding solutions that impact the community and world around us.
Our commitment to being a positive influence on our environment through the strategic use of human performance began with the Ruthless Performance Ride America event in 2019. This project involved a solo, 4,000 mile, human-powered cycling journey from San Francisco, CA to Pottsville, PA. This event raised money for two 501(c)(3) animal rescues near the headquarters of Ruthless Performance in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
Cleaner Oceans & Water Ways
Expedition 118 is an attempt to break a paddleboarding world record by paddling from Havana, Cuba to Key West, Florida in less than 28 hours. In doing so, we plan to raise $500,000 for cleaner oceans and waterways for our partner non-profits.
The expedition is set to commence in the summer of 2023, depending on weather and tide conditions. At present, the Expedition 118 team anticipates breaking the current world record by 4 hours, given our current predictions, training schedule, and performance tracking.
Performing this feat is John Matulevich, the owner of Ruthless Performance.
At this time we are not looking for individual donors, but rather we are asking that people help spread the word and follow along on our Twitter and Instagram by searching @RuthlessPerform.
We are, however, looking for corporate sponsors.
Expedition 118 in the Media
Breaking the world record and raising $500,000 for cleaner oceans and waterways is only part of our goal. Providing our non-profit partners with press coverage and international exposure will help ensure that their missions are followed well into the future.
Here is just a short list of media features on Expedition 118 from various print sources and across the web:
