Introducing APEX Training Protocols by Ruthless Performance

If you’ve trained with Ruthless Performance–either online or remotely–for any period of time, you’ve likely been on one of our proprietary Ex Phys Intervention (EPI) programs. The APEX Training Protocols are our latest version of the Ex Phys Interventions. And just as we strive to maximize, improve, and build champion athletes, we also strive to improve what we offer at Ruthless Performance in precisely the same manner.

APEX Logo WhiteIf you haven’t experienced an Ex Phys Intervention program with Ruthless Performance, it is well-worth considering adding to your current training regimen. EPI programs consisted of a series of individualized training interventions meant to maximize your existing training program. As opposed to building a strength & conditioning program from the ground up, as we do with our Comprehensive Programming packages, EPI’s are meant to supplement the training that you’re already doing.

This makes the former Ex Phys Intervention programs (and now the APEX Protocols) a strategic addition to intense CrossFit Training, Powerlifting program, In-Season Athletes, or generally for individuals that are too stubborn to change their own programming but are interested in adding to and maximizing their training.

What We’re Keeping…

All of the best aspects that you’ve come to expect and appreciate in our EPI programs will go unchanged with the new APEX Protocols. EPI/APEX Protocols can be difficult to exemplify, as the elements of an APEX Protocol will vary extensively from one individual to the next. Individuals who enroll in APEX, can continue to expect a hybrid of features best suited to the goals of the individual including but not limited to:

  • Daily Warm-Ups and Cool-Downs, consisting of a regularly changing and expanding database of cutting-edge corrective exercises.
  • Weekly Totals, meant to ensure our athletes are getting sufficient volume and stimuli in movement patterns and practices that are regularly overlooked.
  • Activation Drills, which ensure the central nervous system is primed for the specific demands of rigorous, sport-specific training.
  • Contraindicated Exercises, which may be common in a particular athletic domain, but, unbeknownst to the athlete, may be hurting their progress, health, and even success.
  • At-Home Exercises, which allow for additional training, drills, and techniques to enhance overall movement, posture, function, while expediting the recovery process between training bouts.

  • Bi-Weekly Training Audits, create an unparalleled level of high-quality communication between you and Ruthless Performance ensuring your training, physical output, and various performance-based metrics are on-target. Audits occur every other week and are the best means of keeping our athletes ahead of the competition.
  • Priority Status on Monthly Q&As, giving you even more opportunity to expand your training knowledge. Q&As are the first Tuesday of every month and can be viewed live or saved for later listening. With dozens of new questions coming in, priority status ensures APEX athletes are always at the top of the list.
  • Technique Analysis, regardless of if an exercise has been administered by Ruthless or another sport-specific or skills coach. This helps pinpoint root causes of pain, movement dysfunction, potential areas of kinetic energy loss, and more. Technique analysis is a stand-alone service offered by Ruthless Performance, but as an APEX athlete, this service is already included.
